Morgan McKinley is working with a well known and respected organisation recruiting for a Financial Controller.

Our client is an international trusted and sustainable business whose global head office is based in West Sussex.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), have a strong working knowledge of SAP, have experience of managing a significant Finance team, solid knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102 and year-end Audit experience. It is essential you are a hands-on, proactive, professional and innovative individual

The role of the Financial Controller is a newly created position to help take the business to the next stage of its ambitious growth plans and this a key appointment in the leadership of the finance team and the role will report directly to the Financial Director.

The primary focus of the role is to support the UK, Ireland & Middle-East Finance Director in achieving the strategy and objectives of the business and Finance team. You will work closely with other Finance leaders, providing support and guidance to the Commercial Finance Directors and providing timely, accurate information to the Group Finance team

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving and developing the Finance managers and Internal Auditor to deliver service excellence, whilst ensuring accounting principles and internal policies are adhered to
• Ownership of the production of management and statutory accounts for the UK business
• Leading the Customer Accounting and Accounts Payable function based remotely
• Managing the Internal Auditor
• Leading the statutory reporting process including preparation of audit files and liaising with external auditors and providing technical guidance to Management
• Oversight of UK Finance policies, including the Expenses policy
• Business partnering the Central Overhead functions, to include, amongst others, Payroll and HR
• Providing technical guidance in reference to FRS102 to the UK and overseeing all financial aspects.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience managing a significantly sized finance team in a large organisation (£500m+)
• SAP experienced
• Is ACCA / ACA / CIMA Qualified
• Has Multi-currency and multi-national exposure
• Solid knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, UK GAAP/FRS102 and best accounting practice

This is a unique opportunity to join a Sussex based business and the role will take full responsibility for the management of the entire central finance function.

Salary:
This is a full-time permanent role paying up to £105,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits.
