What we're looking for

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team. You will be responsible for all aspects of fixed asset accounting, including tax and statutory reporting, alongside all financial aspects of the stock module, including reconciliations, write-offs and provisions, and the projects module.

The successful candidate for the Assistant Accountant role will also be required to oversee weekly payrolls managed by third parties, posting of payroll journals and organisation of weekly payments. You will also review live projects monthly, using information provided by the Project Managers to ensure that project forecasting is accurate and that revenue is recognised correctly. In addition, the role will also involve responsibility over the monthly Sales and Cost of Sales forecast, incorporating the Sales pipeline as provided by Customer Services, as well as uploading budget and forecast data into Workday as required.

You are naturally diligent with a good eye for detail, you also look for opportunities for self-improvement. We are looking for someone who is confident, keen to learn and is willing to challenge how we do things so that the team grows and develops as a whole.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with AAT level 3 or 4 accountancy qualification. Alongside an excellent understanding of accounts to trial balance, you will also have experience of: fixed asset accounting and reporting, stock accounting, and project accounting/deferred income/payments on account. Having a high level of competency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook, you will also be a good written and verbal communicator, while having strong IT/systems and analytical skills. We are willing to support further professional development for the right candidate.
