Axon Moore are working with a UK leading waste management organisation who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join their Central Finance Team in Liverpool.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Purchase Ledger Supervisor who is looking for an opportunity to make an impact and progress within a growing finance team.

Working under the Financial Controller who is passionate about excellence, enthusiasm for the job and developing people this opportunity offers rapid development for the right candidate.

Duties:

You will support the Financial Controller and supervise the day-to-day activities of the purchase ledger department, ensuring the smooth operation of key tasks including transaction controls, payments management, and general ledger operations. Plus, you will look at process improvement and streamlining the query management system.

Your day to day remit is to manage a team of 2 / 3 Purchase Ledger clerks and ensuring that the following is achieved.

  • Process invoices in a timely and accurate manner
  • Reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders
  • Monitor and resolve any queries that occur on invoices
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase summaries
  • Process business expense returns
    • Cashbook and petty cash cheques
  • Processing BACS payments and preparing cheques.

Person Specification:

You will have previous experience in managing a small, busy Purchase Ledger team and have hands on experience of process improvement and troubleshooting. You will also be highly IT literate with good knowledge of software applications including Excel and BACS. Prior experience of using Microsoft NAV is desirable but not essential.

You will provide professional, proactive and effective purchase ledger controls and disciplines across the business, liaising with both external and internal stakeholders.
