Chief Financial Officer

Robert Half are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with Amber Energy, based in central Cardiff to recruit a Chief Financial Officer. With this role there is a unique opportunity for an experienced CFO to join the Amber enterprise group journey at a period of significant growth and high ambitions. The time has come for the organisation to considerably bolster its C-suite with a candidate that has ability to accelerate the group valuation whilst enabling strong future investment.

You will be spearheading the group through its most exciting scale-up phase. You will provide quality commercial and strategic analysis to the business and board with the knowledge to help make critical decisions about pricing and commercial agreements, return on investment across the business, growth footprint.

Role Responsibilities

• Delivering expertise in commercial knowledge, providing for increased profit through our service offerings whilst opening up new areas of commercial growth
• Leading the group to deliver best in class services through an optimistic, infectious everything is possible attitude that delivers an excellent finance service.
• Bring analysis and insight into our market and ensure the group has a robust mechanism for assessing our current market position and competitor analysis and use this to drive strategic decisions that ensure we can capture market share
• Working with senior management on long-term business and financial planning
• The ability to strategically source, identify and deliver new investment to fuel the future growth of the organisation while strategically positioning amber for the future.
• Building relevant investor prospectuses and ensuring stringent due diligence quality standards are maintained.
• Working closely with the sales, legal and service team to inject commercial rigour into agreements, understand risk and place amber in a commercial advantageous position.
• Lead and drive technical innovation within the finance team, enabling process automation and other efficiencies which will support the growth of the business
• Performing risk management by analysing the organization's liabilities and investments
• Deciding on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks

Key Experience

• Experience of working in a fast paced, high change environment, in which forecasting models can change quickly and need to be highly adaptable
• Strong leadership in a c-suite position, understanding not only the duties and responsibilities but also the need for role modelling behaviours
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Experience of working for a scaling organisation with a founder led executive team
• Strong commercial experience and acumen, with experience in pricing and working with sales teams
