Fantastic growth opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join a team of employees in an established business in the fruit exports sector. This business has various packaging units and produces, packs and exports its own product.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accounting function and all duties relating to accounts receivable and accounts payable. The ideal candidate will deliver high quality work and remain professional but will be comfortable with a high energy environment.
The candidate will be expected to deliver their work with the highest levels of ethics and integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and review of monthly management accounts
• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly projections
• Participate in the annual audit process and handling of audit related enquiries
• Ensure that internal control measures are implemented and maintained correctly
• Conduct internal control reviews regarding inventory, assets and capital expenditure within the stipulated framework and policy
• Conduct internal audits with regards to debtors, creditors, wages, stock (fertilizer and spray) and safekeeping of assets.
• Ensure smooth and trouble-free operation of systems and processes and ensure implementation of
• SOPs
• Check & verify inventory unit prices
• Liaise and support farm manager with cost control measures, where applicable
• Provide support function to group IT and BI departments
• Provide support function to HR department (specifically wages)

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Matric and relevant Degree.
• Experience: 3 5 years related experience preferably.
• Previous experience in the fruit export industry.

Computer skills

• Knowledge of Excel, Word & accounting package.
• Experience in NAV, DIPAR or any similar logistics / financial software.
