The Role
We are currently looking for a full-time Assistant Accountant to join our small, friendly yet busy Finance team.
This is an exciting new role within a growing business. You will provide support to the Finance team, particularly assisting the Company Accountant and Senior Assistant Accountant with management accounts preparation and reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, maintenance of supporting accounting schedules, and other finance-related tasks.
Therefore, Management accounts preparation and analysis skills are essential for this position, as well as advanced Excel skills.
You will have similar experience in a finance role from practice or industry, along with good communication skills and a flexible 'can do' attitude. Study support will be available to the right candidate as part of your professional development.
Duties include but not limited to:
* Assist with monthly management accounts preparation and analysis
* Reconciliation of balance sheets, including intercompany reconciling
* Generating monthly and adhoc reports for management
* Preparation and posting of journals to Sage
* Dealing with HMRC and National Statistics submissions
* Any other finance or admin duties and responsibilities as required, including covering for holidays
The ideal candidate:
* Have at least 2 years experience, and hopefully studying (AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
* Can work on their own initiative, and be organised
* Have excellent attention to detail and able to meet deadlines
* Used to dealing with foreign currency and intercompany transactions
* Is analytical, methodical and looks to improve functions and procedures
* Experience using an accounts package (ideally Sage) coupled with good Excel skills
* Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business
