Job Details
The Group Accountant will be the co-coordinator between the operations and the external audit team for the half-year review and the year-end audit as well as having significant input in the statutory reporting process.Client Details
Our client are a Multinational PLC construction business based in Watford.
Description
Key responsibilities include:* producing first draft corporation tax computations as well as working with the Head of Tax to provide assistance with other business tax issues as required;* generating the quarterly IFRS 16 lease reports;* taking responsibility for specific monthly central service accounts' preparation (such as pension accounts);* Supporting the treasury team and providing holiday cover when necessary* Being the central point of contact for the external auditors during the year.* Liaising with the divisional finance and commercial heads to ensure an efficient flow of follow-up and responses to audit requests.* Agreeing proforma accounts with the external auditors before each year-end.* Ensuring consistency in disclosures in all subsidiary statutory accounts.* Liaising with graphics and communications' staff to produce the 'glossy' version of the Annual Report.* Involvement in the in-house corporation tax computation work. In particular, responsible for preparing the first draft of the tax computations.* Communicating with external tax advisers for specialist queries.* Helping with other tax work (P11Ds, VAT, …) as required.* Being involved in forecast and quarterly accounting process. In particular, responsible for producing the quarterly IFRS 16 lease reconciliation as well as assisting with other reporting.* Completing specific central service monthly accounts (such as pensions, property, insurance,… ).* Getting familiar with treasury reporting requirements (bank payments, daily cash reporting, BACS files, …) to provide cover for treasury reporting as necessary.Profile
The successful Group Accountant will be recently ACA/ACCA qualified and have a background in audit.
