Management Accountant £50,000 per annum Leigh

Your new role

• To generate and interpret manufacturing and commercial financial reports, analysis to budget, prior year and regulatory and company standard in order to provide advice and recommendations to the management team.
• Ensure all balance sheet and P&L accounts are properly analysed and supported with appropriate documentation as necessary including producing balance sheet reconciliations. Balance Sheet reconciliations with full back up - Ensure control and accuracy of the business unit balance sheet and provide sufficient back for audit.
• Ownership of the full manufacturing account and commercial P&L.
• Ownership of full manufacturing budget process, generating the Budget Pack including P&L, spend by cost centre/function and commentary - Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the business unit.
• Ownership of the Product Costing process.
• Submission of monthly management accounting data to the Management Team.
• Liaise with business partners to understand and control departmental expenditure.
• Production variance analysis to standard.
• Analysis and review of cost saving projects, monitoring and providing updates and recommendations on cost saving initiatives.
• Analysis of scrap and scrap reduction programmes to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing process.
• Working Capital control through stock reduction, increasing stock turns and actively using slow moving inventory.
• Manage the stock taking process creating accurate documentation and reports and providing auditable back-up for the control of the stock take process.
• Participate in external and internal audits ensuring the Finance Functions compliant.

What you'll need to succeed
Education

• Qualified/Part Qualified (Minimum) Accountant - CIMA or ACCA.

Experience

• Operating in a fast-paced environment to challenging deadlines.
• Background in Manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
• Practical knowledge of standard costing and reporting.

Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Strong MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent problem solver.
• Can demonstrate the ability to prioritise, multitask whilst retaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Previous experience with BaaN would be beneficial.
• Self-motivated and flexible.

What you'll get in return
£50,000 starting salary and £5500 car allowance, 37.5 hours a week, 10% bonus, free parking, private health care.
