DESCRIPTION

The Pricing Manager carries responsibility for the commercial performance of their category(s) through the delivery of market leading ranging, pricing and promotions. The category and pricing teams work in partnership to manage all aspects of the category commercial performance. You will manage a team of Pricing Analysts to deliver on the agreed pricing strategy and commercial targets.

The commercial team set the direction for the business aligning across multiple functions - aligning across multiple functions including Commercial Marketing, Buying, Supply Chain, Connectivity, Finance, Retail, Online. You will be expected to lead commercial discussions up to Director level and cross-functionally to ensure the longer-term goals for the business and category are achieved.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for:

• Delivery of commercial KPIs

• Working closely with the Category Managers to build propositions, agree pricing decisions and forecasts, manage the network commitments and manufacturer funding to meet the category volume and margin targets.

• Managing the workload of the team to ensure that all deadlines are met and that accurate and timely briefs are provided to other teams (including Product Actvations)

• Manage the price book to create, administer and deactivate the tariff range and brief the Product Activations team

• Make pricing decisions in line with the Mobile Pricing policy

• Develop category pricing tools to enable a full quarterly category view by week on pricing, margin, network mix, volume and CGMPU

• Conduct daily profitability analysis and reporting, including bridges to target/outlook and validation that all elements of margin are being reported correctly. Work with Finance to resolve any issues.

• Work with the relevant channel trading teams to gain insight into the most effective propositions and customer journeys for each channel.

• Management and development of their team to deliver excellent results and build a succession pipeline for the future

You will need:

• Category management or trading experience in FMCG/electricals or related retail business

• Knowledge or experience of the Mobile Phone market ideal

• High commercial awareness and numeracy - critical to be able to deal with complex variables

• Tenacity to drive the vision and goals of the business going forward

• Collaborative working style comfortable with handling multiple stakeholders and conflict

• To be highly skilled in Excel, Access and Business Objects (or equivalent)
