This is your opportunity to join Deloitte's growing Financial Advisory M&A Analytics team, part of the wider Transaction Services team.
Working on high profile assignments with some of the best in the field, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, with a mix of both corporate and private equity transactions, within a highly commercial, client focussed environment.
Our analytics team provide support to the deal team through the analysis and manipulation of large data sets to provide compelling, value add outputs to our clients. Our analytics team develop static & interactive data visualisations to communicate business insights to clients. Typically, this involves the investigation of the target from a variety of perspectives to ensure significant value items, risks and other matters have been identified and considered by our client and assisting them in making an informed decision regarding the transaction.

Your role
The Transaction Services group is seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager within the Transaction Services Analytics. This role is critical with respect to providing analytically focused Financial due diligence and M&A transaction support to our clients. This role will be pivotal in shaping the client service capabilities of Deloitte's M&A teams. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to bridge the gap between financial analysis and M&A, with data science and analytics expertise.



Responsibilities:



• Quickly develop an understanding of the target business and its drivers

• Manipulate large data sets to provide compelling, value add outputs

• Develop static & interactive data visualisations to communicate business insights to clients

• Build visualisations and supporting analysis of historical trading, quality of earnings, working capital, cash flow, etc.

• Collaborate extensively with Deloitte engagement teams and clients

• Clearly and effectively communicate requirements, timelines and insights to both internal Deloitte team members, as well as clients
Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Location:
London or regional office, with some domestic and possible occasional international travel. The teams working pattern involves working from the office, from home and at a client site, they have the full autonomy to manage their schedules.

Suggested work pattern: Permanent full-time.

Your professional experience

Essential:

• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Tableau (or other visual tools such as Qlikview, PowerBi), Alteryx (or other ETL tools).

• Ability to ETL client data to facilitate analysis / visualization

• Ability to manage, analyse and present findings from large volumes of data

• Previous relevant work experience involving the delivery of data analytics projects to deliver insight

• Understanding of financial and business drivers and basic accounting concepts

• Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving

• Demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams and being able to work under own initiative under tight timeframes

Desired:

• Power Query, R and Python

• Experience in a financial or M&A environment

• Experience in a Consulting/professional services/strategy environment, or a similar business partnering role at a large corporate

• Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
