Your new company
This organisation is well established with over 50 years in their current East Lancashire based head office, as a specialist supplier to the automotive industry. On site they have a number of engineering methods but with a particular emphasis on moulding and welding, and provide large batch orders with repeat customers along side specific orders. They are known for their quality products, and have a well established team with long serving employees. This role has come available due to retirement of the current Financial Controller, who will be leaving at the end of the year.

Your new role
This job as Financial Controller will be the number one on site of this well-known manufacturing company based near Nelson, Colne, reporting to the FD. You will be directly responsible for the team, ensuring all monthly accounts are produced on time, including business analysis and financial reporting. You will manage cash flow, accounting systems, develop budgets and financial plans and continuously review these areas to maximise profitability and reduce costs at all times. As the number one on site, you will be forward facing with all external bodies including external tax accountants, auditing services, accountants on quarterly and annual reports, and comply with relevant regulations and legislation at all times. You will not be responsible for banking, payables, order entry, billing and inventory management departments, these are managed by the American parent company.

What you'll need to succeed
Qualified or qualified by experience, and given you will be the number one on site, you must have experience working in similar role at this level. Ideally you'll have an understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS, and come from an Engineering / Manufacturing background as cost accounting to maximise profits is key in this organisation. Leadership within a team must come natural to you as the initial 6 months in the job will be extremely hands on in developing, and potentially re-structuring the finance team.
