An excellent opportunity has become available to join an independent and family run business which has continued to grow throughout the many years of business. Our client is looking for a Financial Controller who will be responsible for overseeing the finance team of 8 to ensure everything is running smoothly.

Start: October 2020


Location:
Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm (flexibility to work from home 2 days a week)


Salary:
£50,000 - £55,000 + company profit bonus
Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, company laptop and mobile, enhanced pension contribution, discount on company services, social events throughout the year, onsite parking, twice a week fruit drop offs

To be suitable for this role you will hold a CIMA or ACCA qualification and hold experience within a Senior Finance role. You will be proactive in putting ideas and plans together to help make improvements in the finance and accounts department.

Duties:

* Managing the daily finance and accounting functions

* Making sure budgets are prepared and published on a monthly basis

* Monthly forecasts and report variances

* Preparing monthly management accounts

* Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting to ABTA, ATOL and CAA

* Management of FX heading to ensure the company maximises opportunities

* Monthly reports on performance of the business

* Managing the cash investments

* Carrying out regular profitability analysis

* Daily contact all banking matters

* Oversee the payroll

* Being first point of contact with auditors, ensuring timely production of statutory accounts

Skills and Experience Required:

* Hold a CIMA or ACCA qualification

* Ideally 3 or more years of experience within a Senior Finance role

* Understanding of regulatory bodies

* Ability to work to tight deadlines

* Ability to manage and coordinate a team

* Excellent knowledge on Excel and ideally SAGE 200

* Demonstrate strong commercial awareness

* Broad understanding of inter-departmental workflows
