JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT
Piketberg
Suiderland Plase is an established producer, packer and exporter of citrus and table grapes with production units and pack houses in the Western and Southern Cape regions. We have a new vacancy for a junior accountant that will be based at Steenebrug farm, +- 10km from Piketberg. The position will report the senior regional accountant (based in Clanwilliam) and is available immediately.
Job description Assist with the preparation and review of monthly management accounts Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly projections Participate in the annual audit process and handling of audit related enquiries Ensure that internal control measures are implemented and maintained correctly Conduct internal control reviews regarding inventory, assets and capital expenditure within the stipulated framework and policy Conduct internal audits with regards to debtors, creditors, wages, stock (fertiliser and spray) and safekeeping of assets Ensure smooth and trouble-free operation of systems and processes and ensure implementation of SOPs
Check & verify inventory unit prices Liaise and support farm manager with cost control measures, where applicable Provide support function to group IT and BI departments Provide support function to HR department (specifically wages).
Minimum Requirements: Matric with relevant tertiary education (suitable degree/diploma with 3 5 years working experience) Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) & accounting package Knowledge/experience in fixed assets & inventory control Must be prepared to work as a team & be able to multi-task. The following will count in your favour Experience in NAV, DIPAR or any similar logistics / financial software Previous experience in the fruit export industry.
A market related total cost to company package is offered with pension fund benefits.
