A global publishing company are looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
My client are a global publishing company and are looking for someone passionate about books to join their Commercial Finance team. Their catalogue ranges from contemporary fiction to award-winning apps with over 900 employees in the UK and offices around the world.
The Commercial Finance Analyst will join a team of 4 in the Commercial team and will report into the Commercial Manager. The team is responsible for preparing investment cases, profitability reviews, annual budgets, month end duties, forecasting and long term planning. As the most junior member of the team you will have lots of opportunity to learn new skills.
The ideal candidate will be available to start in September and the contract is an initial 12 months.
Key
responsibilities:
Preparing the annual budget and monthly forecast in Hyperion Planning ready to be submitted to the US parent company
Producing departmental P&Ls to tight timescales and detailed sales profitability reports to support the forecast and budget data
Communicating with non-finance departments and compiling relevant information for budgets and forecasts
Producing reporting packs for the Commercial Director to present to the board
Preparing investment cases for new acquisitions
Reporting on published book performance to assist with influencing decision making
Month end analysis of performance of divisions against the forecast and budget
Ensuring cost control by identifying variances to the forecast and budget
Assist the Commercial Manager with ad-hoc reporting to support commercial decisionsKey requirements:
A love of reading is essential
1 year of experience in a fast-paced office environment desirable
Commitment to completing ACCA/CIMA qualification
2:1 degree as a minimum
Advanced Excel skills
