Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and well-established Group to recruit for a dynamic Commercial Finance Manager based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. A permanent and analytical commercial finance position where you will lead the delivery of financial target through analytical insights and reporting, to support accurate decision making for the business to maximise profits. A progressive opportunity suited to driven financial professional with business partnering experience or looking to take a step into a Commercial Accounting position.

Your new role

Reporting into the Commercial Financial Controller you will play an active role in the product life cycle, using own analysis of past events to influence future decisions, challenge the channels to drive delivery of forecast and budget commitments, along with helping the finance teams to educate, communicate financial discipline/control within the business. You will deliver reporting and analysis that drives performance, provide holistic review trade spend accruals, ensuring that P&LS are reflective of performance, and manage the year end trade spend review process for your products. You will be expected to evaluate business cases to support post investment appraisals, prepare monthly variance analysis for management accounts packs, along with detailed analysis of key promotions and provide recommendations. You will support the delivery of detailed budgeting and forecasting, working with the wider teams on P&L's, revenue streams, risk and opportunities to drive sustainable growth and achievement on profit targets.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this exciting Commercial Accounting opportunity you will ideally have experience within a similar position, part-qualified/newly-qualified (candidates qualified by experience will be considered), with strong MS excel skills. It is essential you have strong communication skills to business partner with internal teams, senior management and external parties, along with be able to manage work-loads and meet time-constraint deadlines. You will need to have the confidence to challenge others and present information to senior stakeholders. It would be advantageous if you have worked within the FMCG sector previously with business partnering experience.
