The Finance Graduate Scheme

The objective of the IPL Finance Graduate Scheme is to develop exceptional graduates into rounded Finance professionals who will become our future leaders.

The 3-year scheme will maximise the breadth and depth of your learning whilst you are fully supported to achieve your CIMA professional qualification. Over the 3 years, you will have the opportunity to develop your professional experience during hands-on rotational placements in three different finance roles, which will challenge you with real responsibilities and accountabilities.

The placements will cover a diverse mix of Finance areas including Commercial Finance, Operations Finance, Financial Accounting & Control, and Financial Planning & Analysis. You will learn core Finance technical skills, as well as softer skills such as business partnering and effective communication.Your CIMA studies will supplement your on-the-job learning, while time in stores and packing sites will help you to understand the impact of your work on the wider business, and how we contribute to helping ASDA customers to save money and live better.

The scheme is based at our Head Office in Normanton, West Yorkshire (approx. 10 miles outside of Leeds City Centre) and also offers hybrid working options. Normanton is the largest of our operational sites where we pack fresh fruit, salad and vegetables, but is also home to our support functions which include Buying, Logistics, IT, Finance and People.

What will you need?

We’re looking for enthusiastic and innovative graduates who are willing to learn with a growth mindset attitude. You’ll also need to have:

  • Self-motivation and determination to succeed in a fast paced, agile environment where you will have real responsibilities from day 1
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
  • A strong commercial mind with a customer-focus mind-set
  • 2.1 or 1st degree in any discipline by September 2022 or within the last 3 years

You’ll receive a starting salary of £26,000 and have the opportunity to be rewarded in increments each year of the scheme dependant on study progression. In addition, you will also receive:
