Job Description Pathology First delivers full laboratory services to a population of 750,000 patients and over 100 GP practices in the South East. It is part of the SYNLAB group of companies, the leading clinical diagnostics organisation in Europe. A vacancy has arisen for a Finance Analyst to be based out of our central hub in Basildon, Essex. The successful post-holder will be required to support the Financial department in assisting with the performance of daily accounting activities such as analysis, maintenance, completing, reconciliation and verification of financial data and documents under the supervision of the Financial Controller. Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Assist with preparation of Management Accounts, including: Allocation of costs to business areas Prepare Balance Sheet schedules and reconciliations Prepare and post Month end journals Perform cost and variance analyses Sales invoicing and credit control General office admin tasks Assist with statutory audit requirements as required Assist with preparation of VAT and Corporation tax returns and schedules as required Sales Flash Reporting Assist with preparation of budgets. Assist with preparation and operation of cash flows, including preparing schedules and reconciliations. Assist with Procurement system data management. Assist with inventory management. Essential Qualified in ACCA or QBE A fast learner with excellent attention to detail Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment A result driven individual with the confidence to interact positively with non-finance and senior management Good report writing and communication skills demonstrating the ability to explain complex, technical information to non-financial staff. Good knowledge of accounting standards Good knowledge of bookkeeping Desirable Healthcare sector experience Demonstrable understanding of, and ability to create, budgets and business cases
