A large local authority in North London are looking to recruit a Finance Officer on an ongoing 3 months contract with possibility of going permanent in the long run. It is a full time role, Monday to Friday, 35 hour per week. The role: To assist in the income management, invoice payments and cashiering activities, and to approve invoice payments on-line. Managing Purchase Order spreadsheet - Issuing and updating PO register Raising cheque and updating supplier records in Council financial systems Banking cheque from customers/suppliers Provide financial service to internal and external customers in line with the Council's customer service standards Resolve financial disputes raised by the customer and supplier Processing journals for recharging other council departments. Supporting the Finance Manager To undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post which may arise or as may be delegated from time to time by Finance Manager. Due to the nature of the role candidates with experience working for local authorities would be desirable but not essential.
