The Opportunity An exciting position has risen for a dynamic Financial Controller to join a sensational finance team, the role will oversee the finance operations of this fantastic hotel and sister Cardiff Property.This role includes all day to day management of the hotel finance team. Key Responsibilities Ensure strong Financial Management within a self-accounting environment Have ultimate responsibility for accurate accounting records and provide financial reports for the Hotel Ensure that an excellent service is provided through quality input e.g. accurate and timely processing of invoices, banking and payroll transactions. Provide focussed, innovative and value-adding Management Reporting and Analysis Deliver high quality management information and performance measurement that is accurate and relevant. Ensure reporting that incorporates benchmarking, identification and measurement of key performance indicators and use of balanced scorecard. Optimise and develop Systems to improve efficiency and information Support the implementation of any Financial Systems in the Hotels. Ensure proper use and maintenance of Financial Systems Manage the on-Property Planning and Forecasting process and ensure that financial plans are consistent with the hotel’s strategic objectives Support the General Managers in Hotel strategic planning, focussing on value opportunities. Ensure a regular cycle of forecasting takes place within the Hotels. Ensure that the content and detail are appropriate to the needs of the operation. Drive this process and challenge the forecasting of other departments. Lead, develop and inspire a high-quality Finance Team Actively plan for succession to develop and replace individuals effectively. Develop effectiveness of the Finance function through continuous training and development of the team. Lead and motivate the team to high levels of performance. Ideal Candidate Educated to GCSE or similar secondary education qualification Previous experience of working as a confident and competent Hotel Accountant Experience of working in a self-accounting environment Previous experience of working within a finance department Strong organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise appropriately Strong IT skills (MS Office, Financial Systems) Previous hotel experience ideal Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong coaching and training skills Prove leadership skills with demonstrable experience of managing large teams Ability to work under pressure Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines A can-do attitude This job was originally posted as www.caterer.com/job/88319017
