Our client, based in greater Belfast, have a requirement for a qualified Financial Controller to undertake a 15 month maternity cover contract. A global leader in their niche market, our client is seeking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to manage a small team of two within a structure and fast-paced environment. The role: Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and managing two staff, the primary duties will include, but will not be restricted to, the following: Supervision, coaching and mentoring of the finance team P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting Timely preparation and compilation of relevant documentation for review Variance analysis of actuals / forecast to budget and prior year Supplementary information required Ensuring adequate reconciliations and cut-offs are in place at month-end and that costs are correctly categorised Review of short term cash forecasts and payment runs Liaising with and supporting budget holders and other colleagues across functions Review of monthly group VAT returns Review of monthly payroll and liaising with external bureau Oversee the annual budgeting process for central functions Review of year-end statutory accounts pack Managing year-end audit Preparation of published financial statements Company secretarial responsibilities Preparation of P11Ds, PAYE Settlement Agreements and Gender Pay Gap Reporting requirements Ongoing enhancement of systems and controls Ad hoc project analysis, and maintenance of relevant documentation, where required Criteria: You will be educated to degree level with a recognised professional accountancy qualification and demonstrate the ability to effectively manage a team in order to deliver high quality output within strict deadlines You will demonstrate excellent understanding of accounting processes and the need for appropriate controls in place with strong attention to detail and knowledge of accounting ledger systems Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are essential as is knowledge of IFRS To apply please contact Laurence Jago, as soon as possible and in compete confidence on .
