Join Assurant, one of the leading providers in lifestyle & automotive protection in Europe, as a European Tax Analyst. We're looking for a Tax Analyst to join our team. You'll be working within our Finance department and will be responsible for work on the tax compliance filings required for the European group. This includes:
• VAT returns;
• IPT returns;
• Corporate tax computations and returns;
• Working with overseas tax advisers in relation to the preparation and review of European direct and indirect tax filings;
• Quarterly US GAAP reporting;
• Tax disclosures for UK statutory accounts. You'll be responsible for the following; Working as part of the European tax team based in the UK; Preparation of quarterly UK and Irish VAT and IPT calculations and returns; Preparing information to send to advisers for IPT and VAT calculations and returns for entities across Europe; Liaising with overseas tax advisers to ensure timely and accurate filings across Europe; Preparation of tax journal entries; tax control account reconciliations and liaison with treasury in relation to tax payments requests; Preparation of UK PSA returns; Assisting with preparation of UK corporate tax returns; Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly US GAAP tax provision process for Europe and working with the global tax group to include; Global access completion and reconciliation to financial ledgers Assisting with forecasting; Co-ordinating with peers, external tax consultants, local and foreign tax authorities. The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge & expertise: Recently qualified tax professional (ACA/CTA) or equivalent or part qualified Relevant tax experience from working in practice and/or industry and/or HMRC
• Good working knowledge of excel
• Insurance industry experience preferred
• European tax experience preferred
• Experience of any of the following tax software - Global Access; Alphatax
