Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are currently partnered with a successful Global business based in Dundee to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller. This is a full-time job offering a salary of circa £55,000 with development opportunities. The Dundee born business now operate on a Global Scale and have grown significantly over the last few years, leading to the creation of this new position. They are looking to expand their team with a talented and experienced individual who has experience operating at a Global level. The role reports directly into the Financial Controller of the business and will be responsible for 3 direct reports. This is a very hands-on, operational role with high visibility across a global business.


Your new role
This role requires an experienced qualified accountant to support the financial controller in the delivery of all aspects of the controllership function within the Global finance team. The role will focus on Group controllership functions including responsibilities for selected entities including the UK legal entity. Your responsibilities will include the Global Treasury and cash management including preparation and presentation of Global Cashflow. Responsible for the UK statutory accounts, overseeing the monthly intercompany elimination process and building day to day relationships with the Global Banking Partner. In addition to this you will take the lead on the annual audit process and will be responsible for compliance with UK, US, APAC statutory laws and financial regulations as well as developing suitable financial controls for the business and supporting the Financial Controller in upholding financial governance.


What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with sufficient post qualified experience, ideally within a Global or international business, however group consolidation at any level will be considered. You will be highly experienced in UK GAAP/IFRS and ideally US GAAP also. You will have experience within international direct and indirect tax and have a comprehensive understanding of financial obligations including shareholder dividend policy. Your financial acumen will be a given but your drive and passion for your work, your relationship building and your strive to continually do your best is what will make you stand out from the crowd. You will be a strong, proactive communicator with the ability to engage and influence at all levels and a well-developed commercial acumen with the ability to manage change effectively. You will be on the upward curve of your career looking to step into a management role where you can challenge, drive change and make an impact to the future of the business.
