Senior Assistant Controller, Peru and Chile - 19001AH7 Preferred Qualifications KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Sr. Assistant Controller will support the Financial Controller with the fiduciary responsibility for compliance and protecting the interests of Oracle Corporation (Oracle) and for the legal entities of Oracle in the Latin America region (i.e. Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Uruguay). The Sr. Assistant Controller is responsible for actively managing all aspects of accounting, external and internal financial audits and internal management reporting for the subsidiary. The Sr. Assistant Controller will support the Financial Controller to enforce that the Oracle legal entities are compliant with all US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and local tax, accounting and financial regulations, required by local country legislation, particularly, those Oracle operations that operate in high risk jurisdictions or significant markets. The Sr. Assistant Controller is responsible for the preparation of financial related information required by government and regulatory agencies (Central Bank, Tax authorities, Statistics Agencies, Customs, etc.) for external financial reporting. Controllership of US GAAP obligations including leading, reviewing & coordinating the month end close, balance sheet reconciliations & reporting requirements; Controllership of Statutory audit obligations including the preparation of financial statements of Oracle subsidiaries, driving the audit & ensuring compliance with local requirements; Continually improve operational excellence by partnering with Oracle Global Finance Organization; Collaborate cross-functionally with internal global stakeholders including Tax, Treasury and Legal to mitigate risk to the enterprise; Due diligence and execution of acquisition accounting and on-going compliance for Mergers & Acquisitions; Contribute to the global execution of key Global strategic initiatives & projects. PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Professional Accounting Qualification, CPA or local country equivalent is preferred Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with multinational companies. Technology sector or Big 4 public accounting experience preferred Exposure to Oracle Financials and/or other ERP solutions is an advantage A proactive self-starter with a desire to learn, innovative inquisitive mindset & ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Excels in a Global high performing, collaborative, diverse & agile environment Fluency in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese is essential Detailed Description and Job Requirements Maintain general accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure that proper information is reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. As a member of the finance division, you will assist in accounting functions which may include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inter-company transactions. Maintain the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, analysis, reconciliation and reporting. Maintain and implement general accounting systems. Conduct account reconciliation periodically, ledger close activities, and provide accurate financial data to support management in decision making. Develop and prepare financial reports including profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements. Review and analyze inter-company transactions. Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications. Participate in the ongoing development and maintenance of internal procedures and processes. May participate in special projects. Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups and management. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets is essential. Familiarity with Oracle Financials is essential. 5 years accounting experience and BA/BS degree in Accounting or equivalent.
