Financial Controller

Your new company
A privately owned and highly successful commercial business are looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join the business as Financial Controller to be based at their offices near Ipswich, Suffolk.

Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director the Financial Controller will take responsibility for finance for the company; they will manage and develop a small but highly efficient finance team and drive the continued development in processes, controls, IT systems and reporting for the business. They will be responsible for the timely and accurate production of statutory reporting, manage the year end audit and be the point of contact to the auditors, bank and other external bodies.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for daily/weekly cashflow reporting, monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts and production of the board pack providing key insight and analysis of the business drivers.
They will work closely with the Managing Director, be an active member of the management team, provide business partner support, influence, insight and analysis on business trends, sales, margin and costs. They will also produce and manage adhoc business case proposals on capital investments, new business opportunities, financing and potential acquisitions.

What you'll need to succeed
The Financial Controller will be a qualified accountant, business minded with good technical knowledge and accounting experience in a SME environment. They will have excellent communication skills and have the ability and confidence to liaise, influence and present at all levels. The Financial Controller will have strong IT skills including Excel to an advanced level and a keen interest to drive efficiency within the business.
