The European hub for our global Treasury team provides our businesses across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region with the critical support they need to run their business on a day-to-day basis and make important future decisions.

For a period of 2-years as part of Cargill European Graduate Program, the Treasury Finance Management Trainee will assume different responsibilities within the One Accounting and Finance Cargill organisation in a corporate Treasury environment. It is expected that the TFMT will apply their expertise and leadership potential in a financial environment, covering a wide range of activities. This role offers a great opportunity combining practical experience in one of the largest private companies in the world and technical studies with support through the CIMA qualification.

As part of the European Graduate Program, you could expect some or all of the following experiences within the first two years with Cargill:

  • Initial assignment to a job; 

  • On-going formal soft skill development and technical training; 

  • Frequent feedback loops with a Cargill manager; 

  • Networking with International colleagues;

Major tasks: 

  • Daily responsibilities include trading structure reconciliations, P&L reporting, internal system control processes and pricing of corporate FX and Interest rates

  • Monthly & quarter end reporting and analysis across multiple Cargill legal entities, reporting views

  • Adhere to corporate and external reporting requirements in accordance with US and UK GAAP

  • Assist different stakeholders in Cargill, this could include; colleagues in treasury, corporate reporting teams, the tax department, other Cargill businesses and internal/ external auditors 

  • Help on projects and process improvements.

 

Qualifications

 What are we looking for? 

  • Recent graduate with a minimum 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in a numerical-related subject e.g. Economics, Finance, Business, Accountancy or similar 

  • A Master degree or another professional qualification towards Accountancy would be beneficial, but not essential 

  • Highly numerate, analysis and attention to detail is crucial for this role

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written in fluent English, with the ability to work effectively with multi-cultural colleagues at all levels of an organization 

  • A self-starter, who is proactive and willing to take responsibility and resolve problems in a timely manner 

  • Examples of leadership in your academic, extracurricular and work experience 

  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel; experience with any computer languages/ data manipulation tools would be useful
