Job Details

My client is looking for an immediately available Accounts Assistant to join the team as quickly as possible and help to work through a backlog for the rest of the year

Client Details

My client is a large Not for Profit organisation in central London with good transport links

Description

Maintain the financial accounting records up to trial balance level, including accrual and prepayment transactions as required

Enter financial transactions into the accounting software, including: Income and incoming funds, including working with the fundraising staff to ensure the correct coding

Expenses and outgoing payments

Balance Sheet and bank reconciliations

Reconcile the income on the accounting system to the income in the donor database

Maintain the purchase ledger and sales ledger, including all internal and external enquiries

Distribute regular aged debtor reports and liaise with the fundraising staff in relation to the receipt of the funds

Prepare the regular payment run in line with the published schedule and ad hoc payments as required

Restricted funds: Identify receipt of and maintain records to back-up the restriction

Maintain schedules to reflect the receipt, usage and balance of funds available

Incorporate the trial balance and activity by department into the management accounts for review

Prepare quarterly VAT

Provide financial information as necessary for funding applications

Overall responsibility for the accuracy of transactions in the accounting software

Maintain the general Finance Team e-mail address

Answer finance queries for the team

Assist and comply with all regulatory and statutory requirements

Profile

Experience translating data from credit card and giving portals into the financial accounts

Proficient using Sage accounting software

Some formal book-keeping training, including accrual accounting, financial principles, systems and procedures

Good organisational and administrative skills including a very high level of attention to detail and accuracy, even under tight deadlines

Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel
