Hays Senior Finance is working exclusively with a growing business, seeking a Group Accountant to sit in their Head office in Angus. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and forward-thinking individual to work closely with the board of Directors and lead a dynamic office team for a fast-growing, progressive, family-run. Working predominantly in Angus there will also be ad-hoc travel to the different sites based around Scotland.


Your new role
You will take a role as Group Accountant for the business, pulling together financial information from various sites around Scotland. You will lead by example, a team of 5 office personnel, both finance and non-finance, offering support and guidance in the general running of the office specifically from a financial perspective with regards to cash-flow etc to ensure that the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Credit Control are maximising their output.

You will be responsible for business partnering with depot managers and sales managers situated at the various sites with a view to streamlining processes and making improvements where necessary. You will be responsible for all financial duties for the group including year-end and month end, reporting, forecasting and will also have input to the annual budget. You will work closely with the Finance Director to look into current work streams, identifying areas that can be improved with a view to maximising profit.


What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced accountant with 2-5 years minimum PQE. You will be fully Qualified Accountant with an ACMA, ACCA, CA OR ACA qualification although qualified by experience will also be considered. A strong knowledge of manufacturing and supply will put you at a strong advantage, as will experience of working at Group level. You will have a have a proven track record of operating at, or reporting to, Board level accompanied with strong interpersonal skills. A confident communicator with strong analytical abilities, you will have the ability to challenge and influence in a constructive and supportive manner.
