Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading and growing manufacturing SME based in Ledbury, Herefordshire to recruit for a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager. Reporting directly into the Financial Director, supervising and developing a small finance team, this is a great opportunity where you can really add value and support a growing business in a hands-on and varied role.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve the preparation and production of the monthly accounts including management accounting excel models, revenue recognition, related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations along with completion and review of the monthly P & L with analysis/commentary. You will prepare rest of year financial forecast, monthly closure of sales, purchase and cash modules, monthly EC sales list, quarterly VAT and intrastat returns along with leading continuous improvement and streamlining of systems/processes. You will work with the wider business to approve/review purchase requisitions and expenses, monitor system project set ups and operational processes to minimise business costs. You will support the sales teams in the financial aspects of commercial contracts, review and oversee all credit control, sales invoicing, purchase ledger and weekly cash forecast prepared by the finance team along with being involved in ad-hoc projects for the business.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this exciting and hands-on Finance Manager role you will need experience within a similar position, ideally ACCA/CIMA part-qualified/qualified with strong communication skills to build relationships across the business and externally. You will need several years accounting experience within the manufacturing/engineering sector with some team supervisory experience. It is essential you have key MS Excel skills with experience of various finance systems and be willing to challenge/improve processes and systems. It would be advantageous if you have experience using Sage 200 with knowledge of import/export and foreign currency processes.
