Assistant Accountant Role- Leading Manufacturing Group - Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire - £25,000 per annum-Hays

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading manufacturing/engineering group based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Assistant Accountant. Reporting into the Financial Controller within a small team you will support financial accounting processes and transactional duties with the opportunity to also take on management accounting processes in the future. Your new role

Your key duties will involve reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts, recharging of costs within the group, support to purchase and sales ledgers along with payment of weekly expenses. You will be involved in the completion of monthly headcount reporting, weekly and monthly payrolls along with general ledger journals. You will assist in the completion of VAT returns, analysis of expenditure for corporation tax reporting, administration of banking transactions along with cash flow forecast and working capital analysis. You will support the Financial Controller during audit and statutory reporting along with being given the opportunity to support Management Accounting duties in the future.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this varied and permanent Assistant Accountant role you will need experience within a similar role, ideally AAT qualified (or working towards completion of level 3 or 4) with key MS Excel skills and strong communication skills. You will be able to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines with a self-motivated and flexible working approach. It would be advantageous if you have experience of processing payroll (Sage) along with experience within the manufacturing sector.
