Your new role
As the Financial Controller for the company you will report into the UK Finance Director and oversee an established transactional team including payroll, credit control, accounts payable and receivable. The purpose of the Financial Controller role is to be responsible for maintaining the companies technical finance including financial accounting, statutory reporting, tax and audit.

Key duties include overseeing the Accounts receivable team, managing the billing platform function, overseeing payroll and all VAT and tax queries. You will also assume responsibility for the month end close process including full balance sheet responsibility. As Financial Controller you will deal directly with the external auditors and will manage the full audit process. Other ad-hoc duties include corporation tax, VAT and dealing with queries from HMRC.

This is an excellent hands on role and the company are looking for a technically proficient candidate with a strong financial accounting base.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully Qualified Accountant with a background in either Public Practice or technical financial accounting in industry. You will be able to assume responsibility for a team of 6 so previous line management is useful. Strong excel and IT skills are also essential. This role is not looking for a commercial Accountant but rather a strong technical candidate with excellent knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation and finance monthly close.
