Are you a fast learner, highly motivated, with a positive attitude and want to be part of a collaborative financial planning team in a first class Housing Association? 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start a career in financial planning and analysis (FP&A). It’s a great opportunity to learn on the job, and you’ll have the opportunity to apply for funding to support you through a professional qualification such as CIMA (terms and conditions apply).

We’re looking for someone with a love of numbers, analysis and Excel. Someone with an appetite to learn and develop. 

In this role you’ll be the junior member of a team of five. You’ll eventually be responsible for managing cyclical cash flow forecasting for Optivo’s development programme and contributing to treasury reporting. You’ll also support the annual preparation of the corporate financial plan. You’ll help in the review of new investment opportunities and advise colleagues around the business on your findings. Over time you’ll become really great with the systems we use for financial planning and to analyse development opportunities.  

Essential skills and experience 

  • Have good Excel skills
  • Be comfortable working in a technical and analytical role
  • Be highly numerate and able to communicate information effectively
  • Be flexible and adaptable
  • Have a high level of personal integrity and tenacity in the conduct of your work 

Desirable skills and experience 

  • Education or employment in finance
  • Experience in the social housing sector
  • Degree level education
