Finance Manager within local government for service led department paying up to £45,000


Your new company
This public-sector organisation provides services across East Lancashire and have been commended for their work in the local community. They support many residents and organisations, providing a wide range of services to the local community. After a period of transformation internally, this position of Finance Manager is now available to join their experienced and diverse team.

Your new role
This Finance Manager job will report into the head of finance, specifically in the service sector of the organisation and manage a team of 5 finance professionals. You will provide a financial service to external bodies, whilst also being the accountable finance body for all the people-based services they provide. Your role will include monthly accounts preparation and submission, statutory accounts, financial projects, and assistance in preparing annual budgets.

What you'll need to succeed
Given the complexity of the department and role, it is essential you have local government experience, specifically in a service led department such as education, adult social care or child services. You must also be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) and will be looking for a role where you can make a real difference that affects a large number of people in the community You will be a keen business partner and people manager with the ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders.

What you'll get in return
You will be paid an annual salary of up to £45,000 with a competitive holiday package which rises to 33 days a year with the option to buy an additional 20.
