Bango is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and capable Trainee or part qualified Accountant to join the growing Bango finance team in our Cambridge, UK office. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, the successful candidate will be keen to obtain an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (demonstrated by obtaining an AAT qualification, suitable university or equivalent experience). You will need to be an enquiring mind able to work independently and work well with other team members. Financial support to obtain a professional accountancy qualification will be provided.

• Responsible for group balance sheet schedules including prepayments and accruals
• Maintain the group fixed asset register, including the preparation of monthly depreciation journals, tracking additions & disposals
• Production of group VAT returns in both the UK and Italy.
• Produce monthly spend analysis for key stake holders in the business and be prepared to take on adhoc projects as required
• Support the Management Accounting in the producing the budgets
• Variance analysis narrative for the monthly board pack.
• Prepare the monthly management accounts for the Director of Japanese subsidiary
• Compile lead schedules for the companies external auditors and assisting in queries where required
• Liaise with local accountants for subsidiaries in Spain, Japan and Nigeria to ensure local statutory accounts and corporation tax returns are filed on time.

Essential Requirements  

• Ability to use excel to a moderate level (vlookup, sumif, pivot tables, would be an advantage)
• Work with large data quantities whilst maintaining accuracy
• An understanding of double entry bookkeeping
• Experience of working with Sage 200 (or other leading accounting / ERP systems).
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Able to work under time constraints and handle multi-task delivery
• Fully eligible to work in UK
