Change Public Practice are working with a leading national firm who due to growth and a number of prestigious business wins, are keen to appoint an Audit Manager within their Financial Services audit team in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is a varied Financial Services Manager role with experience from all FS backgrounds being considered i.e. insurance, banking, private equity, and asset management. The firm are experiencing a time of exciting change, and as such, are looking to appoint ambitious, innovative and dynamic individuals to their team. This role can offer a good balance between team and client management as you will be involved in all aspects of overseeing and ensuring the delivery of the audit engagements from planning through to completion. In addition your role will include executive level client interaction and provide you with exposure to multiple clients on a regular basis. Key responsibilities will include:
• You will build a portfolio of clients and have responsibility for agreeing audit timetables, briefing the audit team, monitoring budgets and supervising the audit process. This will include planning and reviewing audit fieldwork, statutory reporting and project management
• Keeping Partners up-to-date with progress throughout the course of the assignment
• Preparing and reviewing reports to senior management audit committees
• Supervising and coaching junior members of staff
• On-site involvement and being the key point of contact for senior level client staff throughout the year
• Keeping up to date with company product and service offerings, identifying sales opportunities that will aid the overall business growth
• Involvement in the department leadership team aiming to continue the growth of the Financial Services offering in Scotland Requirements:
• Must be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant i.e. ICAS / ICAEW / ACCA etc.
• Significant audit experience in Financial Services is essential and must have audit experience in at least one of these areas: Insurance, Banking, Private Equity, Asset Management
• Must have practical experience gained from a Public Practice firm i.e. Big 4 / Top 10 etc.
• Sound and practical working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
• Strong leadership skills with previous experience of supervising, coaching and developing a team
• Strong project management skills including decision-making ability, analytical skills, time management, and organisational skills
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to demonstrate a strong business development acumen
