Redwood Search are currently working with a fantastic Evesham based business who are currently looking for a Assistant Accountant for a busy finance department to work alongside a team of management accountants who will provide guidance and support. The role will suit a candidate who is commencing their career within finance, with full study support offered. Main Duties Daily bank reconciliations. Daily sales reports. Item code management. Full responsibility and control of petty cash across multiple currencies including issuing of advances and withdrawing additional cash. Fixed asset register maintenance. Balance sheet reconciliations. Profit and loss expense code analysis with supporting schedules. General ledger journal postings. Overhead accrual and prepayment postings. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts. Cost centre reporting and assisting with departmental manager reviews. Supporting the finance team in the budgeting and reforecast processes. Uphold statutory audit requirements. Support departmental compliance with internal control processes. Government statistic submissions. Liaising with the wider business to resolve issues within the accounts. Assist with information requests from managers and the sales teams. Bank statement & other documentation filings. Any other ad hoc tasks as required. Person Specification Must be currently studying for AAT or equivalent with a view to attaining further qualifications in the future. Demonstrates a commitment to studying and passing a recognised professional accounting qualification. Motivated and keen to learn. Experience of using accounting software and Microsoft Excel required. Committed to developing strong working relationships within the finance team and play an active part in the development of its systems and processes as the company grows. Committed to developing strong working relationships with the wider business. Prepared to go the extra mile to ensure an issue is resolved. Have good communication skills. Demonstrates ability to work well within a team environment, recognising busy times and actively shares the workload to ensure the team delivers to deadlines. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures and those applicable to the wider business. Good attention to detail.
