Credit Control Officer (Current DBS) NW1, London £29,814 Full Time Permanent Carlton Recruitment is looking for a Credit Control Officer in NW1, you will need to have a current DBS. The role is to maximise income through effect, efficient and accurate management of all accounts and through the recovery of debts. This role will also include assisting in credit card reporting processes and ensuring all queries are addressed timely to avoid a build-up of balances. Key

Responsibilities:
Generate invoices and account statements in line with company procedures Maintain a system that calculates what customers owe on time to ensure it is up to date Administer the credit card facility and ensure all statements are distributed promptly Ensure the correct allocation of payments within agreed timeframes Monitor customer accounts details for non-payment, delayed payments and other irregularities Follow up on outstanding payments owed and manage the recovery process including legal action where required Advise CAPITA and budget holders to ensure correct information is received Resolve credit control queries and discrepancies Reconcile the sales ledger/ debtors ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted Complete annual Supporting People financial returns Liaise with partners and budget holders to ensure bad debts are kept below the target including rent, rent voids, Supporting People, care income and agency payments Ensure that CAPITA allocate rent income and credit card transactions correctly Use all legal remedies to court applications and attend court as required on behalf of the Association Use tracing software and external agencies to locate former residents Monitor and provide quarterly performance reports on the Utility Meter and Billing providers debt collection performance Attend operational contract meetings with providers to ensure a collaborative approach Prepare and submit cases for authorisation accounts for write off in accordance with procedures Personal Specification: Previous accounting administration experience Previous experience of financial systems Knowledge of County Court, Small Claims and DIY possession proceedings Ability to prioritise confliction demands Ability to use own initiative and work to strict deadlines Good written and verbal communication skills Understanding of the commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace
