About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the finance team of our award winning client as an Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for providing a range of accounting and financial services to support the company's operations. The role is based in Dandenong South head office.
What you'll be doing

• Preparing and analysing financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes
• Supporting the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Providing financial data and insights to inform business decision-making
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and controls

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting ideally a CPA
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in a professional services or manufacturing/construction environment
• Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements
• Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications (e.g. Excel, SAP)
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
• A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to your work
