We are looking for a Financial Controller to join thriving Family-Run Construction Company based in Portsmouth with an outstanding reputation, recognized as a trusted go-to main contractor. You will be overseeing all financial operations including subcontractor accounts, VAT returns, budgeting, forecasting and more.

Salary and Hours

Up to £55,000 per annum

Mon - Fri

08.30 - 5.00pm

Responsibilities

* You will collaborate with the business to ensure timely invoice issuance.

* Oversee the debt collection process to guarantee prompt customer payments.

* Carry out quarterly VAT returns as well as HMRC queries and CIS returns

* Manage Payroll, taxes and other employee related finances

* Produce and manage budgets & cash flow forecasts

* Track and oversee the company's financial performance in comparison to the budget and forecasts, delivering regular reports to management

Requirements

* Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA

* Proven track record as a Financial Controller/Manager ideally within a construction background

* Strong knowledge of CIS and VAT returns

* Confident using financial software and Microsoft office

* Great attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
