Overview

We are seeking a positive, driven and organised Bookkeeper to join our team working from our office in Wetherby. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance and can demonstrate they have at least 2 years’ experience working as a bookkeeper in practice, using Xero and QuickBooks.

Duties but not limited to:-

Manage a variety of client's bookkeeping requirements and be point of contact for bookkeeping queries
Raise sales and purchase invoices and ensure the VAT treatment is correct
Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable ledgers
Reconcile bank statements & post monthly journals
Prepare and file VAT returns for clients
Skills

Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, DEXT and QuickBooks is essential
Xero certification preferred
Qualified by experience or AAT level 4
Experience with payroll transactions desirable
Practice experience
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with team members and clients
Positive attitude
Open to learning new skills and sharing best practice
