Are you seeking a senior commercial finance role for your next career move?This is a new and very exciting opportunity as the Head of Commercial Finance for a prominent UK brand with a presence both in the UK and overseas!You will report directly to the CFO, overseeing a team of 5 within a dynamic and fast paced commercial finance department.The ideal candidate must be fully qualified, with robust accounting expertise and experience of managing substantial data volumes. You will be a true team leader, with the determination and vision to achieve both your personal and the business objectives. Retail experience would be fantastic, but it is not essential.The business offer a very attractive benefits package including an on-site gym, private medical insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), flexible working hours, a hybrid work arrangement, and staff discounts, to name just a few!The key duties of the role include:
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process with ownership for delivery of the full P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Manage daily/weekly/monthly KPI reporting
  • Responsible for the completion of the month-end close, covering full P&L & Balance Sheet with thorough knowledge, control and management of the processes
  • Review Balance Sheet reconciliations, analyse results, investigate and correct imbalances
  • Manage a team of 4, ensuring all reporting is delivered accurately, on time and in an appropriate format
  • Have a forensic understanding of the Commercial operation and champion the brand
  • Business partner through interpretation of performance and aid commercial decision making across the business/ Group
  • Ownership of marketing spend through clear reporting, ensuring variances to expected spend are identified and managed
  • Ensure payroll processes are maintained/ developed, improving reporting of contact centre complexities
The successful candidate will:
  • Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a minimum of 3 years PQE preferably within a retail/discounting environment
  • Have solid accounting experience and ability to handle large volumes of data and manage complex Excel models
  • Have previous experience of SAP (Desirable)
  • Have previous experience in the retail sector (Desirable)
