As a Finance Assistant in a startup environment, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial operations during its growth phase. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and assisting in the development of financial strategies. This role requires adaptability, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work closely with a small team, often handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Your contribution will directly impact the financial health and operational efficiency of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) by generating and processing invoices and payments.
  • Process daily settlement for merchants, ensuring accuracy in payment amounts.
  • Carrying out important checks to ensure our accounts reconcile, identifying discrepancies, and resolving them across all our payment platforms
  • Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy.
  • Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records, both digital and paper.
  • Support the finance team with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documents and reports.
  • Enter financial data into accounting software and ensure the accuracy of records.
  • Generate reports on financial data as required by the finance team or management.
  • Support the finance team with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with any finance-related projects, such as system upgrades or process improvements.


Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Experience with accounting software Xero and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong proficiency in financial reporting, analysis, and accounting principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
