About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and methodical Payroll & Pensions Team Leader to join our People team who provide expert advice and guidance to our People team, the Trust, our academies and other stakeholders.

Working closely with the Head of Payroll, Pensions and Benefits to ensure the trust wide payroll runs smoothly and efficiently, demonstrating excellent leadership skills you will manage the day to day tasks of the Payroll Operations team, you must possess fantastic communication skills, be proactive and resilient to the day to day challenges of education payroll.

We’ll support your development and give you plenty of opportunities to enhance your skills along the way and you’ll benefit from our flexible home based working pattern from day 1.

We are looking for someone who has:
  • Experience of working within a busy payroll and pensions team, with multiple terms and conditions and defined benefit pension schemes.
  • Proven experience in the education sector.
  • A strong understanding of manual and computerised payroll systems and principles.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build robust systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within teams and across boundaries, sharing knowledge and achieving results.
  • Commitment to the Trust's values and acting with respect, fairness, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Ability to manage relationships effectively to achieve the best outcomes for the Trust.
