We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager or Senior Accountant with a strong background in SME environments. This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused individual who can manage a broad range of financial responsibilities while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and business objectives.

Key

Responsibilities:

• Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• VAT Returns: Oversee VAT reporting and submissions in compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Statutory Accounts and Filings: Ensure the preparation and timely submission of statutory accounts, annual returns, and corporation tax returns.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and update budgets to provide strategic insights for decision-making.
• Stock Control: Manage and reconcile stock levels, working closely with operational teams for accuracy.
• Internal Systems Management: Oversee financial systems and processes, leveraging experience with software such as FloLens.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage payables and receivables while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and maintain healthy cash flow to meet financial obligations.
• Payroll: Ensure payroll processing accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize financial processes and reporting for scalability.
• Audit and Compliance: Work with external auditors to maintain adherence to financial regulations.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with other departments to align financial strategy with business goals.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role in an SME.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software (essential).
• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience with stock management systems like FloLens (desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Exceptional communication skills to present financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred but not essential if experience is strong.
