The Role:

As Finance Business Partner, you will take ownership of all financial operations across the business, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. You will provide critical financial insights and strategic advice to enhance company performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
This leadership role involves managing the finance team, overseeing budgeting, reporting, and compliance (including BAS and award standards), and optimising financial systems. While experience in the transport industry is highly regarded, it is not essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all finance functions across the business units, ensuring team workloads are effectively balanced and optimised.
  • Lead and take final sign-off responsibility for critical financial processes, including BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT returns, and other financial submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage and optimise financial systems (e.g., Netsuite, MYOB), driving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and actionable insights to improve business performance.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative standards, including awards, allowances, and tax regulations.
  • Actively participate in strategy meetings, contributing to business improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and prepare tenders, contracts, and rate reviews in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with organisational objectives.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and forecasting to influence key business decisions.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive and oversee the annual budgeting process and manage cash flow effectively.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.

You will have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance management role. Experience in the transport industry will be highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Netsuite, MYOB) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance, including BAS and legislative standards.
  • Proven ability to provide financial advice and strategic recommendations to enhance performance.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on collaboration.
  • Leadership experience with a track record of fostering and developing high-performing teams.
