The Opportunity

Join our dynamic Human Resources team as a Payroll Manager, where you will oversee an effective payroll function, providing professional guidance and confidential payroll administration services to multiple business units within the UK and Republic of Ireland. This role offers the chance to manage a team, ensure compliance with statutory regulations, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our payroll processes.

How You Will Impact Us
  • Ensure Accuracy and Timeliness: Manage the receipt and authorization of salary documentation to meet monthly deadlines.
  • Process Payrolls: Handle monthly payrolls, including pensions and other benefits, and prepare BACs submissions for all UK payrolls.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Produce and distribute management reports, submit Real Time Information to HMRC, and manage year-end procedures.
  • Pension Management: Monitor contributions and maintain pension documentation for audits.
  • System Management: Act as the technical focal point for payroll, update records, and ensure compliance with payroll/HR management systems.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, develop, and maintain a team to meet current and future business needs.
  • Audit and Standards: Conduct checks and audits to ensure conformance with Group accounting standards and statutory regulations.


Experience, Skills, and Qualifications Required
  • Educational and Professional: Qualified to A level standard or equivalent, and CIPP or equivalent standard.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a payroll environment, with experience in line/team management.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of current payroll law and practices.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, business and commercial awareness, and good working knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Additional Skills: Some accounting background, IT/HRIS exposure, and strong numerical/verbal reasoning skills.
  • Behaviours: Analytical thinking, initiative, thoroughness, team working, concern for standards, and results focused.
