Job Opportunity: Senior Credit Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Manager to join a leading financial services organization. This role involves assessing, approving, and managing credit proposals for corporate and institutional lending businesses, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.

Position Overview:

Reporting To: National Credit Head

Function/Department: Credit - LAS Institutional

Portfolio Size: 1000+ crore

Key

Responsibilities:


1. Credit Assessment and Approval:

o Evaluate and approve credit proposals for mid-corporate, large corporate, construction finance, capital markets, and institutional mortgage clients.

o Conduct thorough risk analysis, including industry, business, financial, and management risk assessments.

o Recommend credit decisions while adhering to internal policies, external regulations, and legal documentation norms.

2. Portfolio Monitoring and Risk Mitigation:

o Monitor a diversified portfolio, ensuring timely detection and resolution of risks.

o Analyze financial covenants, portfolio trends, and early warning signals to mitigate potential losses.

o Develop strategies to manage credit exposures, recover assets, and minimize non-performing assets (NPAs).

3. Collaboration and Process Improvement:

o Engage with sales teams, credit committees, and risk management teams to facilitate seamless credit approval processes.

o Recommend improvements to credit policies, processes, and tools based on evolving market needs.

4. Market Knowledge and Expertise:

o Stay updated on regulatory changes, market trends, and industry practices, especially in share markets, MTF, AIF, REIT, INVIT, and SEBI guidelines.

o Provide actionable insights to improve credit evaluation and portfolio health.

5. Team Leadership:

o Mentor and guide junior credit analysts and business analysts, enhancing their technical and analytical capabilities.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Postgraduate/Graduate in Finance, Economics, or related fields.

Experience: 6-10 years in credit evaluation and risk management, preferably in NBFCs or similar institutions.

Preferred Expertise:

o Familiarity with NBFC/MFI operations.

o Strong understanding of capital markets, share market lending, and regulatory frameworks.

Skills: Analytical thinking, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
