Senior Financial and Reporting Accountant

18 month contract

Search is delighted to bring to the market a new Senior Financial and Reporting Accountant role working with our client in the pharmaceutical industry based in Liverpool. This is a hybrid role with a requirement to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday-Thursday.

The role is part of the Account to Report team and is responsible for Financial Accounting for one or more Entity to
deliver accurate and timely execution of Financial Accounting activities.

This role will perform complex transactions and statutory reporting across the set of entity codes. It also includes
support for projects and continuous improvement and liaising with Finance Business Partners for escalations.

Duties include:
Prepare and post recurring and standard manual journals, including intercompany entries and topside
FinanceCore journals.
Prepare and post accruals and reclassification entries
Perform reconciliations, including IC/IG sales and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) confirmations and
reconciliations.
Identify reconciliation issues between SAP and FinanceCore and resolve any issues
Process allocations incl. payroll costs and WBS elements based of monthly timesheets, wages & salaries accounting, share-based calculations.
Support preparation of entity budgets and forecasts including Profit & Loss, Balance sheet and cashflow
statement.
Prepare and load data from the budgeting & planning tool to the consolidation system for all legal entities.
Analyse and report on variances between actuals, budget, and forecasts for balance sheets and cash flow.
Prepare preliminary local statutory reports including Trade Creditors reporting, including
commentary for operating cashflow preparation and calculation and entry of statutory adjustments.
Process manual settlements in SAP (outside of RPA process).
Complete IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) adjustment calculations and share with
Controlling & Reporting for review.
Lead the audit process

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree in related
field or professional certification (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CMA)
Operated at a senior level within Accountancy & Finance
SAP Experience
Experience working within scientific/pharmaceutical/manufacturing industry
Coached junior members of staff
Commitment to the contract duration
