We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant with 3-4 years of professional experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in Xero accounting software, and a proven ability to deliver accurate and timely financial reports.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Record Maintenance:
- Record daily financial transactions accurately in Xero.
- Ensure all entries are classified correctly as per accounting standards.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
2. Month-End Processes:
- Prepare and assist in the completion of month-end reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Generate and analyze financial statements, including profit & loss and balance sheets.
- Assist in preparing management reports with key financial metrics.
3. Tax Compliance:
- Assist with tax preparations, including VAT/GST filings (if applicable).
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and deadlines.
4. Support Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with senior accountants or finance teams to prepare budgets.
- Monitor actual vs. budgeted expenditures and highlight variances.
5. Audit Support:
- Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Ensure records are up-to-date and meet audit requirements.
6. General Administrative Support:
- Respond to queries from clients or team members regarding financial data.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Assist in process improvements and system automation initiatives.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA is an added advantage
Experience:
- 3-4 years of accounting experience of working with multiple clients.
- Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software is a must.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
