The opportunity

An exciting opportunity to be involved in the development and delivery of our bookkeeping and VAT function and also help influence the direction and structure of the team going forward. Supporting a team, you will be joining a progressive and forward -thinking department. This role offers a talented Bookkeeper the opportunity to advance your career within a dynamic business.

Day to day duties

Client-Facing

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare information for VAT returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare income and expense analysis for clients.
  • Liaise with clients to complete filings and answer queries.
  • Work with clients on cloud accounting software to manage their finances.

Team Management

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage staff, including supervision and guidance.
  • Plan and allocate work within the department.
  • Conduct appraisals for junior team members.
  • Provide both technical and day-to-day guidance to junior staff.

This role involves working with clients from multiple sectors to deliver seamless virtual finance services, while also managing a team to ensure efficient and accurate service delivery.

What are we looking for?
  • Excellent understanding of digital accounting solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills in accounting contexts
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to take ownership of job costing and pricing for the team
  • Experience working within an Accountancy Practice
  • Strong understanding of VAT, financial reporting, and management accounts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident liaising with clients directly
  • Comfortable working with cloud accounting software packages (e.g., Xero).
  • Naturally interested in using technology to enhance client experiences and simplify processes.
