OVERALL SUMMARY
At Close Brothers we look to recruit individuals from all different backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick every box. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and are open to discuss flexible work options to help you balance your work and home life.
Join Close Brothers Treasury Governance, Risk & Control Team where you will be involved in key daily operational activities (e.g. processing and reporting on trade input, onboarding of new counterparties and instruments) with strategic work to ensure robust operational control of key processes in Treasury. It will involve great exposure to the department’s leadership to deliver targeted enhancements to the operating model and support the funding and liquidity needs of the Bank.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with on-boarding of new counterparties and trading instruments and capture of necessary data in the system
Ensuring Treasury complete ongoing due diligence and risk framework requirements (e.g. risk event reporting, KRIs, risk and control assessments)
Ensuring accurate Mark-to-Market of treasury products (e.g. derivatives, bonds) and operation of collateral management processes
Ensuring system rules are in place to deliver robust control of deal input and managing these in response to business and risk management needs
Work collaboratively with front and back-office teams to identify and resolve issues
Ensure regulatory (EMIR) and daily business reporting is completed on a timely and accurate basis
Develop and operate static data and confirmation processes, providing independent review and challenge within these processes
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
Operational or risk oversight experience in an applicable field
Demonstrable risk and control awareness and ability to apply this practically to an operational role.
Ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks for multiple stakeholders by pre-agreed deadlines, moving between tasks flexibly in response to changing circumstances or urgency.
Confident speaking face to face with multiple stakeholders
Pragmatic, with a keen attention to detail
Positive attitude, resilient, and open to change
Highly self-motivated
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
Experience working in the banking sector.
Understanding of the trade lifecycle and the purpose of supporting controls
A general understanding of Treasury and it’s function within a Bank
We are an inclusive organisation and committed to ensuring our recruitment process is as accessible as possible to everyone. We will make adjustments for people who have a disability or long-term condition. If you need the job description or application form in an alternative format or would like to discuss the recruitment process with us, please email us at or request a call back.
